Imagine that. Legal immigrants aren't worried about the law. They aren't worried about being profiled or being deported or being asked for their papers because they already have them on hand and aren't afraid to show them.

Just goes to show the liberal media and all the illegal's advocates that their arguments against booting the illegals is just a pile of crap.

Just goes to show that the legal immigrants are not concerned with all the crap that the liberal media syas will happen to them because of this law. Legals know they don't need to be afraid. Illegals on the other hand shuld move as quickly as possible. The best thing an illegal can do for the tax payers of the U.S. is to self deport.

People in Bayou La Batre's Southeast Asian community, especially the older generations, have been encouraged to apply for wallet-size passport cards that they can easily keep with them.

An excellent solution for anyone here legally who is worried about any of these laws.

I agree! Since federal law says immigrants should have their papers on them at all times this would be the easiest way for them to carry them without having to take too much of an extra step.

I find it funny that MSNBC and many of the other mainstream media outlets haven't caqrried any stories like this or had any other reporters bother to go do a little investigative reporting on the facts.

Just another mouth piece for the advocates of illegals that shys away from the truth when it smacks them right in the teeth.

Doesn't surprise me in the least.

After all those are the folks that are employing the illegals in this country, and they wouldn't want their source of cheap menial labor to dry up. Because after all how horrible would it be if the actually had to clean up after themselves or do their own yardwork?

I would still find it annoying that I had to carry around proof of citizenship because I wasn't white.

That's funny, I carry around proof of citizenship and I AM "white".

Look make it a requirement for EVERYONE, then there is nothing "racist" about it.

Or conversely read the immigration laws of this country and you will see where it is a requirement for ALL legal immigrants to carry around proof of being here legally UNTIL they gain citizenship.
